Brisbane WorldCC Connect - Delivering social and sustainable outcomes through procurement and contract management
Beyond Tick-and-Flick: Delivering Social and Sustainable Outcomes Through Procurement and Contract Management
WorldCC and Grosvenor are proud to host this session as part of Social Traders’ Convene – Social Value Through Business, Australia’s influential gathering of businesses and leaders working to reshape how social impact is created, measured and shared.
Most organisations have embraced social procurement and sustainability goals, but many still struggle to turn commitments into measurable outcomes.
Too often, social procurement becomes a compliance exercise focused on clauses, reporting and activity rather than real impact. For SMEs, limited procurement and contract management resources can make increasingly complex requirements difficult to navigate. Larger organisations often face challenges around scale, governance and ensuring commitments are actively managed throughout the contract lifecycle.
This panel will explore how organisations can move beyond compliance and embed social and sustainable outcomes into everyday procurement and contract management practices. From sourcing and contract design through to supplier performance and benefits tracking, panellists will share practical approaches for delivering measurable value.
Fittingly, the conversation will take place at Marhaba Cafe, a Nundah Co-op social enterprise serving great food and greater purpose. “Marhaba” is a casual Arabic greeting meaning hello or welcome; a spirit reflected in the cafe itself.
Marhaba creates meaningful employment opportunities for people who face barriers to employment, including people living with disability or mental health challenges and those who have arrived in Australia as refugees. Its food and community bring together the different cultures and life experiences of the people behind it.
Hosting this conversation in a social enterprise gives us an opportunity to experience social procurement not simply as a policy, target or contractual commitment, but as something tangible. The choices organisations make about where and how they spend can create meaningful economic and social value in the communities around them.
It is an apt setting for a conversation about moving beyond tick-and-flick compliance and towards social value that can be seen, experienced and sustained.
Join procurement, contract management, legal and business leaders as they discuss how organisations, suppliers, SMEs and social enterprises can work together to turn commitments into meaningful outcomes.
We welcome all our commercial, procurement, contracting, supply chain, and legal professionals across Brisbane.
Don't miss this chance to gain valuable perspectives and connect and network with fellow professionals. Share insights, exchange ideas, and build relationships beyond the session.
