Projects we've delivered

Australasian Railway Association (ARA)

We led the industry research "The Participation and Engagement of First Nations People in the Rail Industry" alongside our collaborators Akina and Humanize Media, in close partnership with the ARA team.

The research explores the lived experiences of First Nations employees across the rail sector, the learnings from First Nations businesses engaged in rail projects and establishes critical baseline data for employment and engagement levels industry-wide.

The report brings to life the complex and intersecting history of First Nations people and the rail lines. And while it recognises the meaningful progress made in recent decades, it also makes clear that significant opportunity remains to improve workplace inclusion, career development and procurement opportunities.

18 core recommendations have been set out for the ARA and the rail industry, grouped across four key themes.

Queensland Resources Council (QRC)

Queensland Resources Council (QRC) received funding from the Queensland Government to develop a suite of resources with the aim to improving diversity, equity and inclusion within their member base.

Social Traders and Central Queensland University worked together to develop a survey and suite of materials as part of QRC’s Workforce Connect Support initiative.

This tool enables SMEs to complete a self-assessment of their diversity and inclusion practices and receive guidance and recommendations based on their results, supporting them towards best practice. Take a look at the Resources WIDE Digital Hub to expand and diversify your talent pools.
