Together with University of Technology Sydney, we'll be launching this new report, written by James Hornitzky, PhD researcher at the university.

The report draws on the experiences of certified social enterprises across Australia to answer this key question:

What does it actually take for a not-for-profit to build a social enterprise that stands on its own two feet?

Across four organisations spanning hospitality, retail, HR compliance and community services, four themes kept emerging which we'll discuss:

  1. The right leader changes everything.
  2. Volunteers are a strategic asset, when used well.
  3. Funding needs to match the stage.
  4. The relationship between the SE and its parent NFP matters.

Your speakers:

  1. Tara Anderson, CEO at Social Traders
  2. James Hornitzky, PhD researcher at University of Technology Sydney
  3. Amber Earles, Head of Impact and Insights at Social Traders
