What is Social Procurement?

July 16, 2018

Last updated on July 17, 2018

Social Procurement occurs when organisations choose to purchase a social outcome when they buy goods or services.

At Social Traders we’ve great belief that social procurement can strengthen Australian communities and are proud to be a driver in this movement alongside other pioneering organisations that include Kinaway, BuyAbility and Supply Nation.

When business and government choose to purchase from social enterprises, including indigenous business and disability service organisations they have the power to create real change and bring disadvantaged people into the labour market; whether they’re young people at risk, people with a disability, the long term unemployed or recently arrived migrants and refugees.

ProcureForGood is an initiative to connect Government and large business with multiple social procurement and supplier diversity databases, using award winning procurement and analytics technology from VendorPanel.
