Chris Newton is the Executive Director, Responsible Investment at IFM Investors and joined the Social Traders’ Board in 2018. At IFM Investors, Chris works across investment teams to ensure that responsible investment considerations are embedded in IFM Investors’ investment, asset management and reporting frameworks.
Chris has a broad range of experience in Australia, having been an executive at some of Australia’s largest private businesses, Government departments and within the Community sector including Deloitte, ANZ, Transurban and the State Government of Victoria’s Department of Treasury & Finance.
Chris has had a long history working with the community sector and social enterprise including as Board member Reclink, Project Director at Good Shepherd Microfinance and leading The Australia Post Social Innovation and National Partnership Programme.
He is also a Non-Executive Director of Westernport Water, and a special adviser to Good Shepherd, and is a participant in Australian Council of Superannuation Investors (Council Member), PRI Infrastructure Advisory Committee (Member) and IIGC Climate Change Policy Working Group (member).
Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Murdoch University), Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance (Finsia), Masters of Business Administration (Melbourne Business School) and a Graduate Certificate in International Development (RMIT)
