The Social Traders awards are back!

We know the world has changed as a result of COVID-19, and that many businesses have been heavily impacted. That makes it even more important to celebrate and recognise the work that’s been done to keep social impact flowing through the Social Traders marketplace. COVID-19 won’t stop us celebrating!

The Social Traders Awards recognise and celebrate the leaders in social procurement – social enterprises, businesses and Government.

Why apply?

  • Be recognised as a leading social enterprise, or a leading business or Government buyer.
  • Be profiled in sector media and through Social Trader’s channels as a best practice leader.
  • Receive a promotional video, certificate and digital assets (e.g. award winner logo) to show you are an award winner or award finalist.

We’ll be holding a digital celebration of our winners this year, coinciding with the Social Enterprise World Forum. Each winner will be profiled in a short video as part of the digital celebrations, and in ongoing Social Traders promotions.

We’re looking for applications from right across the Social Traders marketplace – all sizes, stages and types of projects.

FAQs

Who are these Awards open to?
ST certified social enterprises1  and ST business and Government members1 are eligible to submit an application and/or a nomination for these awards.
How will these Awards be judged?
  • Social Traders will assess each entry against the criteria for the award entered.
  • A shortlist will be announced for each award.
  • ST certified social enterprises2 and business and Government members2 will be given an opportunity to vote for a winner in each category.
  • The winner will be determined by a combination of public voting and Social Traders panel of judges.3
All judges decisions are final.
Can I apply for multiple awards?
Yes you are welcome to apply for multiple awards. An organisation can submit more than one application for a particular category, provided that it is for a different project or contract.
Can I nominate someone else for an award?
You may nominate someone other than yourself for the Social Enterprise Champion and Social Procurement Champion awards only. Please ensure that you address each criteria required for the nomination. ​
Who will have access to my application data and how will it be stored?
All application data will be stored securely by Social Traders. We will not publish any information that you provide with us publicly without your written consent, other than video entries for the Celebrating the Social Enterprise Sector Response to COVID-19. Social Traders may choose to aggregate certain unidentifiable information for the purposes of reporting and promotion. What categories can I apply for?
Certified social enterprises1, business and Government1 members are able to apply/nominate for four awards each as outlined below:
 
  • Certified Social Enterprise award categories:
    • Social Enterprise of the Year – Large Enterprise​
    • Social Enterprise of the Year – Small Enterprise
    • Social Enterprise Champion of the Year​
    • Social Procurement Partnership of the Year​
    • Celebrating the social enterprise sector response to COVID-19
  • Business and Government Member award categories:
    • Social Procurement Big Spender
    • Social Procurement Business/Government Agency of the Year
    • Social Procurement Champion of the Year
    • Social Procurement Partnership of the Year​ (one award, awarded jointly to parties of the Partnership)
What do I need to do to apply?
Entry to this year’s awards can be submitted via the entry form link above.​
Please ensure that you address each criteria outlined for the award you are applying for. There is a word limit of 100 per criteria per award category. Where word limit for each criteria is exceeded, only the first 100 words will be considered.

 


  1. To be eligible to apply/nominate for the awards, you must either be a: ​
    • Current business or Government member​, with fully paid membership fees at the time of application and at the time of the Social Traders Awards presentation; OR
    • Current certified social enterprise, with fully paid certification fees at the time of application and at the time of the Social Traders Awards presentation
  2. Voting will be completed via the Social Traders portal. To be eligible to vote:
    • Social enterprises must hold a current ST certification and have completed all required payments associated with their certification at the time of voting
    • Business & Government members must hold a current membership and have completed all required payments associated with their membership at the time of voting.​
  3. The composition of the judging panel is at Social Traders discretion​
