Home | About Social Enterprise | What is a Social Enterprise | Social Enterprise Spectrum
Social enterprises are businesses that trade to intentionally tackle social problems, improve communities, provide people access to employment and training, or help the environment.
The spectrum is a useful tool to help explain where social enterprise fits in the spectrum of business and not-for-profit.
Often described as the point where not-for-profit meets business, a social enterprise’s primary purpose is to benefit the community and/or environment rather than provide financial return to shareholders and owners.
