Social Enterprise is on the rise in Australia and around the world. As the Managing Director of Social Traders – Australia’s leading social enterprise development organisation – I’d like to invite Australian social enterprise and social investment leaders to attend.
Now in its 8th year, the Social Enterprise World Forum attracts experts, practitioners, influencers, policy makers and researchers from all corners of the globe.
Social Traders in conjunction with SVA hosted the 2nd SEWF in Melbourne in 2009 and over the past 5 years interest in social enterprise from governments, investors, philanthropy, business and community sectors in Australia has grown significantly.
SEWF is an annual international conversation on emerging trends, challenges and opportunities relating to social enterprise development and investment. Best practices are shared and can be applied locally, country by country.
Key SEWF15 themes are:
- A nurturing ecosystem
- Impact investment: realigning expectations
- Social enterprise championing the fight against poverty
- Feeding the planet through social enterprise
- Young people and social enterprise
Professor Muhammad Yunus, founder of the Grameen Bank, world-leading social entrepreneur and civil society leader will join a plenary debate at the Forum on whether investors should profit from social enterprise and contribute to a panel discussion on the potential of young people to use social enterprise as a preferred model for doing business.
Come join me to be part of the international dialogue on ‘Growing a New Economy’ at SEWF’15 in Milan from 1-3 July.
