New funding for social enterprises addressing waste and recycling

October 22, 2014

Social enterprises wanting to recover materials going to landfill, while providing a social benefit, can now apply for support to a new funding program.

The program, Social Value from Waste, was approved in September by the Victorian Government to support social enterprises and charities to buy equipment to expand operations or recover new materials.

  • Applicants can apply for grants of up to $50,000 and all details are available on the Sustainability Victoria website.
  • Applications must be lodged electronically by 4pm on Wednesday 8 October 2014.

Also coming up is funding for two positions in The Crunch Round 5 to help budding social entrepreneurs get support in 2015 for efforts to reduce valuable or harmful materials going to landfill in Victoria. The Crunch is Social Traders’ highly successful fast-track business planning and mentoring initiative for early stage social enterprises.

For more information on the Warm-up event on Friday 10 October (the first step in the application process for The Crunch – now compulsory for all applicants), please see details here.

For more details on the grants, contact an SV grants officer on 1300 363 744 or email:
