Over the next 12 months Social Traders will deliver 16 Social Enterprise Ideation events across metropolitan and regional Victoria to identify training and employment opportunities for people facing barriers to work.
Specifically targeting women, youth and multi-cultural groups, the Social Enterprise Ideation events will comprise a mix of social enterprise workshops, idea clinics and networking activities in Melbourne, Ballarat and Wodonga.
Designed to strengthen the pipeline of accelerator-ready social enterprises through the facilitation of idea creation and generation, Managing Director David Brookes said, “Engaging regional and metropolitan Victoria through social enterprise provides a positive opportunity to encourage local entrepreneurship to solve some of the most-hard pressed existing social problems with new solutions”.
The first of the Social Enterprise Ideation events will commence in October with four introductory Social Enterprise 101 Workshops, followed by a series of networking events designed to bring social enterprises from across Victoria together.
The event series will culminate in June 2017 with an ‘Ideas Pitchfest’, that will bring Victoria’s social enterprise accelerator programs together to showcase some of the best and brightest new ideas to tackle employment through social enterprise in Victorian communities.
Social Traders is Australia’s leading social enterprise development organisation and has worked with over 3,500 social enterprises since 2009.
