Workshop: Vic Govt Business Development Tactics for Social Enterprise

Interactive workshop to help you navigate how your social enterprise can make the most of the Social Procurement Framework

The rollout of the Social Procurement Framework (SPF) is slow, but it is happening.

  • Are you wondering where/how to start?
  • Are you wondering how to identify the opportunities within the government’s supply chain?
  • Are you on panels but not getting traction?
  • Are you frustrated that all of the opportunities are too big?

Social Traders is working closely with a number of Victorian Government departments and agencies and as a result has unique insights on how social enterprises (SE) can navigate the range of opportunities, within government directly and within government supply chains. (If you don’t know who the ST Business & Government members are, login to the Social Traders Portal here.)

Regardless of what stage your SE is at, the purpose of this interactive workshop is to help you navigate what you can do to make your SE visible to government. The workshop will build on the recent ST Conference session ‘Tactical advice on selling to the Vic Govt’, with practical information tailored to attendees. You will come away with a clear understanding of how you can focus your business development efforts and what your next steps should be.

Places in this workshop are limited to 12 social enterprises, with three ST staff. It will be interactive and personal, with opportunity for 1:1 discussions.

Who should attend: Social enterprise business development (BD) managers or anyone responsible for BD (maximum one person per SE).

When: Thursday 17 October 2019, 10.00am – 12.30pm (morning tea provided)

What you will need to bring:

  • Laptop
  • Understanding of what your social enterprise has already done in attempting to sell to/selling to Vic Govt and/or taking advantage of the SPF

Places are strictly limited and registrations close Friday 4 October 2019.

  • If you have any questions regarding this event please email Olivia at
  • Numbers are capped at 12 (one person per SE), however, if you would like more than one person to attend, please email Olivia at
  • If you are Sydney or Brisbane based and cannot attend this event please register your interest by emailing, as we may run interstate events in the future
