We work with lots of businesses to provide an avenue for mentoring and leadership development while supporting our social enterprises. Mentors from supporting businesses have the opportunity to work with and provide specialist guidance to some of the most promising social enterprises in Australia.
Social Traders’ Crunch program, is a market-leading incubation program for social enterprise, and is built on proven learning and support models that involve business mentoring as a key component of the program. Approved and selected mentors will work with the enterprises and provide guidance to build a market-ready business model to attract investment.
Crunch mentors enable enterprise participants to lead their own development by:
- Facilitating problem solving through discussion rather than providing the answer
- Assisting to find and build resources
- Explaining with useful and relevant examples
- Asking thought-provoking questions
- Mentoring for our Crunch program is a unique opportunity to engage with a network of social thinkers and enable some of Australia’s most progressive startup ideas.
Many mentors remain engaged with their startup enterprise well beyond the program, through advisory or Board roles. Crunch social enterprises tackle issues such as food security, homelessness and youth at risk. See examples of Crunch social enterprises. Time commitment and eligibility for business mentors
We are currently redesigning the Crunch and the ways that mentors can be involved. Typically, mentors are engaged for the duration of a program (3 months or more) and commit around 2 hours per week during this time.
