Western Young People’s Independent Network aims to reduce racial discrimination and promote greater social inclusion in within the Australian society. They are committed to growing a multicultural Australian society with greater understanding between people of different cultures and ethnic backgrounds. WYPIN has identified the need for increased and improved cultural competency training in the public sector, corporate businesses, community organisations and educational institutions.
WYPIN will develop a social enterprise that will provide cultural competency training on a fee-for-service basis. The training workshops will educate and inform participants on the experience of refugee groups, the impact of culture on behaviours, attitudes and values, and strategies to maximise inclusion and minimise discrimination within diverse groups. This enterprise would provide a sustainable revenue stream for WYPIN as an organisation to continue its advocacy and related work.Back to Alumni
