The Melting Pot aims to assist newly settled migrant and refugee women, a powerful yet often overlooked group – especially when it comes to funding and support. They often migrate with their partners or families, without knowledge of wider networks and they have skills which are unappreciated. There’s next to no employment opportunities available for these women, and their inability to speak fluent English is tough for them.
The Melting Pot provides these women with the opportunity to host cooking workshops and share their culture and food. In doing this they are provided with employment, the chance to develop their English skills, and a supportive environment in which they can foster new relationships.
The Melting Pot is currently developing partnerships and sourcing hosts for the workshops!
