Right Click Community is in the space between an idea and a functioning enterprise and will launch in 2016.
It will pair teenagers with seniors to teach them how to use technology in a safe, community environment. The program will operate around a ‘pay what you can’ model. This will involve seniors paying what they can afford for basic technology help, with a percentage given to the teenager as payment and a percentage kept by Right Click, covering program costs and ensuring ongoing sustainability.
This program will provide an opportunity for young people to gain valuable life experience & pocket money and will welcome youth of all abilities and academic engagement to participate. So far Right Click has received monetary support from the REA Group as well as in-kind support from Optus and the Random Hacks of Kindness community.
An app is being developed to assist teenagers in providing comprehensive take-home notes for the seniors they teach & partnerships are being formed between community groups and schools who are keen to get involved.
Long term, Right Click Community plans to facilitate inter-generational learning on a variety of topics and foster a culture of acceptance and opportunity.Back to Alumni
