The Customised and In-House (CIH) training program is a social enterprise of Justice Connect Not-for-profit Law (NFP Law), a service that provides free and low cost legal information, advice and training to community organisations.
NFP Law is engaged by local councils, government agencies and peak bodies to deliver legal training to community organisations as part of their community development and capacity building programs. NFP Law is also engaged to deliver ‘in-house’ training to board members and staff of community groups. Any profits made by CIH training are invested back into NFP Law to provide further free and low cost legal services to more community organisations.
As Justice Connect is itself a not-for-profit organisation, the lawyers who deliver CIH training understand the context in which community organisations operate, not-for-profit sector terminology and the importance of providing clear, plain-language information.
NFP Law delivered CIH training to more than 1400 people in Victoria and New South Wales in the last financial year. NFP Law has recently received funding to expand its services nationally and plans to expand our CIH offerings to community groups in all states and territories of Australia.
