Our Social Enterprise Development Fund
One of the goals of Social Traders is to work with others to establish an Investment Fund that will enable social enterprises to access a range of financial products. In the first instance, Social Traders will establish a competitive process seeking innovative ideas for social enterprises. Ideas deemed to have potential will be matched with training, skills development and financial support.
Social Traders believes that the financial support needs of social enterprises differ significantly from grant funded welfare programs simply because social enterprises are businesses. As such, any investment by Social Traders in individual social enterprises will include the ‘wrap-around’ business support necessary to develop sustainable social enterprises. This ‘wrap-around’ support will take the form of integrated business training and skills development as well as financial support. Applications for financial support only will not be considered.
