Social enterprise is being pursued in both developed and developing countries as an important way to build stronger communities and local economies, and the Victorian Government has over recent years funded many not-for-profit organisations to develop social enterprises.

Social Traders was created from a unique collaboration between the Victorian Government and a private Foundation - each contributing matched funding to establish the organisation.

This investment enables Social Traders to support the development and growth of social enterprises in Victoria and at a national level to encourage greater collaboration across all levels of government, business and the community.
