AMES Appoints New CEO
AMES Board Chair, Graham Sherry OAM announced Catherine Scarth as new AMES Chief Executive Officer, effective from 5 September 2011.
Ms Scarth, currently General Manager for Community and Policy at AMES was selected following an extensive search and was selected from a large field of high-calibre applicants.
She has developed and led a diverse range of community services and has worked across the Community, Government and Business sectors to create genuine partnerships for AMES since moving from the Brotherhood of St Laurence in 2008.
Mr Sherry said that Ms Scarth brought a wealth of experience to her new role and a deep commitment to AMES’s vision and strategy to provide a broad range of settlement services to support refugees and migrants settle and fully participate in Australia.
Mr Sherry also thanked outgoing CEO Ian McHutchison OAM for his uncompromising commitment to AMES’s staff and clients; and for the leadership he has provided since his appointment in 2007.
Ms Scarth is also a non-executive Director on the Social Traders Board.
