World Cafe Food Forum
Social enterprise STREAT and Social Traders will co-host their second World Café style food forum for food-related social and community enterprises on the evening of 11 Feb 2010.

This event is an informal gathering of like-minds where people can get to know each other’s programs, explore opportunities for collaboration, learn from each other, and hopefully support each other.
The forum will be in the style of the World Cafe approach, as a creative way to have conversations around questions and issues that matter. In the World Cafe format conversations happen in an informal, relaxing environment around food.
There are seven design principles of World Cafe: set the context, create hospitable space, explore questions that matter , encourage everyone's contribution, cross-pollinate and connect diverse perspectives, listen together for patterns, insights, and deeper questions, and harvest and share collective discoveries. The methodology is simple: groups of four people come together around a table of food and have a conversation around one or more questions that are meaningful to them.
At the end of the session one person remains on the table to host the next conversation whilst the other three move to separate tables. In the next conversation the host shares the essence of the last conversation and this becomes the thread for the next conversation, deepening the next conversation. After a number of conversations the whole group gathers to explore themes and gather collection wisdom.
